WELCOME TO OUR DONATIONS PAGE

Thank you for choosing to donate to Smile International – your contribution is greatly appreciated .

Smile International relies on the generosity of its supporters, people like you, for its work. As a registered charity, number 1079730, we are dependent on voluntary income, and through general donations we are able to respond quickly whenever a need arises, as well as continue our work helping to tackle the underlying causes of poverty.

HAITI EARTHQUAKE

Smile International is working in partnership with the “Haiti Hospital Appeal” to help those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. We are currently donating humanitarian aid and if you would like to help either through offering your time, money or aid, please contact the Smile office on 01689 870932. To donate to Smile online please follow the link below to the Just Giving website: www.justgiving.com/smileint/donate and mark your donation Haiti Appeal. Thank you for your support.

SHARES
If you have "windfall" shares that you would like to share with Smile to support our many projects around the world, we would be delighted to hear from you.

USE OF DONATIONS
As a charity, our aim is to use donations for the purpose intended and to get that help to those in need as quickly as possible. Contributions are received on the understanding that Smile International has complete control over the use of all donated funds. Where the purpose of the donation is not specified, it will be allocated to our General Fund which will be applied, at the discretion of the Trustees, for the general administration of Smile International and to projects of highest priority. Where donors have expressed a desire to support a specific project, your donation will be allocated to the most relevant of our seven funds, which are:

  1. Smile Kosova & Balkans

  2. Smile Sri Lanka

  3. Smile India

  4. Smile Africa

  5. Sponsor a Child

  6. Sponsor a Widow

  7. Sponsor a Pastor

Funds 1 – 4 are used to help to bring relief from poverty and suffering in a variety of ways including the provisions of emergency aid; repairing houses and schools; providing essential infrastructure such as water; addressing health needs such as palliative care; IT and English language teaching; and stimulating micro enterprise projects to help people to work their way out of poverty. We work in close partnership with people on the ground to identify these needs and to channel our support to the areas of highest priority.

Donations received for particular projects, which are either no longer in operation or cannot wisely be applied to that project, will be used for other Smile International projects

In order to reduce our costs, we will acknowledge donations and letters via email wherever possible. To save on administrative costs and put your donation to where it is needed most, we do not normally acknowledge humanitarian aid donations or monetary gifts under £10. If, in such cases, you do specifically request an acknowledgement, please would you provide either an email address or a stamped addressed envelope.

Thank you for your understanding in helping us to maximise the amount of available funds that we can use directly on our projects to help those in most need.

On behalf of the Trustees, staff, volunteers and all those we are seeking to help – thank you so much for supporting us in our work.
