Thank you for your interest in raising funds
for Smile International.
It is no exaggeration to say that Smile
International could not survive without the kindness and generosity of
individuals, churches, businesses and organisations. We are always in
need of financial support, as this is the means
whereby we can help so many people around the world. We are indebted to
everyone who has raised important and urgently needed funds to support
our work – thank you.
If you are intending holding a fundraising event, please let us know
about it so that we can give you practical help and publicise your event
on this website and in our newsletter.
Your donations will go into our General Fund
from which it may be used appropriately for any project requiring
funding at the time it is received. Needs can arise or change very
rapidly and Smile international endeavours to respond equally rapidly.
Alternatively you may indicate that it should go into one of our eight
Funds described on our Donations page, and it will be used for whichever
project has the highest priory at the time.

Raising funds for children and widows in Zimbabwe
Our SWIM 4 ZIM fundraising campaign will
be offering thousands of children and adults in Zimbabwe a more positive future,
with easy access to clean water, regular food and the chance of an education or
a sustainable income. We’ve put together a
SWIM 4 ZIM
fund raising pack, which is crammed full of great
ideas to make sure your event really goes swimmingly! Also included is a poster,
sponsor form, risk assessment form and sample letter for your event.
If
you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Smile
office.
In the midst of the current
situation in Zimbabwe, with food and petrol shortages, rampant inflation and
cholera that seem to be in and out of our headlines on a daily basis, here is
the opportunity to make a difference to those in great need, and to give them a
better future to look forward to.
We hope that you have fantastic
fun as you and your friends take to the water and SWIM 4 ZIM!

The Easyfundraising website provides a
free service where you can shop with your favourite online stores and at
no extra cost raise funds for any charity, good cause or group you
choose to support. You still shop directly with each retailer as you
would normally, but simply by using the links from the site first, each
retailer will make a cashback donation to the cause you wish to support.
For more information, visit
www.easyfundraising.org.uk/how_it_works and register Smile
International (Reg Charity No. 1079730) as your chosen charity.
If you decide to use Everyclick or
Easyfundraising,
don't forget to tell
your friends about this new way to support us!
Some of our supporters are helping us spread
the word by adding a simple PS, similar to the following, to all of
their emails. If you would like to do the same, that would be great!
"I raise money for Smile International
just by searching the web!
Everyclick
is an internet search
engine with a big difference - it donates half its revenues to charity,
please support them too!

FROM
ANTIQUES TO AID
|
Did you know there
was an alternative way of giving to our work? No doubt you watch
the TV auction programmes and see how items are tracked down in
hidden places in the house, loft or garage, valued and put into
auction so that the owner(s) could go on that expensive holiday
of a lifetime etc. What better way of turning something like
this Royal Worcester vase or Biscuit Barrel into cash to further
the work of Smile to bring the Good News of Jesus to the world.
With the help of
Northwood Missionary Auctions (NMA) you can. They take donated
items, value them and then sell them through their auctions and
give Smile the cash! There is no seller’s commission so Smile
will receive the full sale price in the normal course of events. |
|
 |
NMA is a Christian
Charitable Trust set up in 1969. They have two auctions a year (April
and November) and auction items such as antiques, collectables and
memorabilia including old jewellery, pictures and metalware, clocks and
watches, smaller items of furniture, glassware, china and pottery,
silver and plated items, sell them and send us the money on your behalf.
Would you help us in this alternative
way of giving? If so please contact James Belmour at
enq@nmauctions.org.uk
or call NMA on 01923 836634. You can also see their promotional film by
logging onto
www.nmauctions.org.uk and clicking on Promotional Video. Mention
Smile when you call.
