Ruth distributing shoeboxes
Tangalle: Ruth distributing shoeboxes of toys to refugees at a school
Our first consignment of aid (flown out courtesy of Air Sri Lanka) included shoeboxes of toys which we were unable to put on our truck before Christmas. If you wish to donate new small toys for the children (Sri Lanka Aid collection), please send these as they are (and not in shoeboxes) so that we can send them in bulk to refugee camps, orphanages and schools. Subsequent aid is going by container ship.
Children with teddies
Tangalle: THANK YOU, KNITTERS, your teddies were eagerly received by the children.
Clive giving teddy to baby
Hambantota: The children lost all their toys, and these teddies have brought smiles to many children's faces. Local doctors said these were ideal to comfort traumatised children.
Boy with shoebox
Tangalle: Thank you for my shoebox!
